EKSG DISBURSES LOAN TO TESCOM STAFF
Ekiti State Government has approved the disbursement of Housing loan
to 240 staff of Ekiti Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).
The Chairman Teaching Service Commission, Hon Babatunde Abegunde who disclosed this lauded the Ekiti State Governor for approving the loan despite the paucity of funds in this Covid-19 era in the State. Hon Abegunde emphasised that the Governor has given high premium to teachers’ welfare to rekindle their enthusiasm as a motivating initiative for higher productivity and cushion the negative effect of Covid-19 before resumption.
TESCOM boss explained that the loan cut across all cadres (both teaching and non-teaching staff) according to their levels as well as their ability to easily repay without too much stress on their salaries noting that it is a revolving loan where others would still benefit at the next disbursement exercise. In another development, the Principals of the public secondary schools have been charged to be more alive to their responsibilities
The TESCOM Chairman, Hon Babatunde Abegunde made this known at the
interactive session with all the Principals of secondary schools in Ekiti State at Christ's school, Ado Ekiti. The Chairman emphasised more on punctuality and staff relationship matters and advised them to shun disorderliness in the education sector. He urged the Principals to report any form of indiscipline to TESCOM for necessary action.
He promised that all Schools would have Guidance and Counsellors with
the new postings after resumption.
Hon Abegunde called on the Principals as ambassadors of the State Government in each school to improve on their supervision skills. He assured them that there would be no room for God-fatherism in his tenure noting that efforts would be intensified to promote improved efficiency and output.
Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary Mr Olusesan Alabi, explained that the general posting would be for both principals and
teachers which could happen at any time noting that nobody is permanent in any school.
He encouraged them to have accurate record keeping and also have confidence in themselves as there would be replacement for any teacher posted and all necessary corrections would be ensured.
Responding, the Principal of Ado Community High School, Omisanjana, Mr Victor Anjorin described the interaction as a laudable development as it refreshed them and keep them on their toes again concerning their
duties in order to perform maximally. He promised on behalf of others, thorough supervision to justify the confidence reposed in them.
