Ado-Ekiti LG Flagged off its campaign and sensitization program against Gender base violence, Rape and Domestic violence with a workshop.


On Tuesday 18th August,  a lecture was delivered by Barr. Shirley Atane, SA Gender, office of the First Lady Ekiti State, HE Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi.

Hosting the event was the Chairperson and Coordinator of Women and Children programmes in Ado-Ekiti LG Mrs Adebimpe Fajuyi-Akinola.

S.A to the wife of Ekiti state governor, Barrister Shiryle Atane with the Chairperson of Ado-Ekiti LG, Mrs Bimpe Akinola.

Declaring the workshop opened,  The Chairman of Ado-Ekiti LG 
Hon Motunde Fajuyi lend her voice to the cry against all manners of violence against women. 
It was a united resistance to Gender Based Violence by all leaders of thoughts present.

The support of the Ekiti state Ministry of Women & Children affairs was expressed by an official, Mrs Olatilu.

The Eyesorun of Ado Ekiti spoke at length  on behalf of Ado-Ekiti traditional institution condemning every act of GBV.

The Iyaloja General of Ekiti state
Iyalajes, Security operatives,
Gender officers rep of the LG Health Centres, Transporters
Landlords Association, 
Party Women Leaders and Youth leader across board in AELG were in attendance and totally condemned GBV.

Religious bodies were also present.
Ado-Ekiti LG chapters of CAN and FOMWAN spoke strongly against GB.
Different youth groups and
Community department of AELG joined others in a street walk against GBV.

The campaign was taken to the palace of Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, markets, motor parks and the streets of Ado-Ekiti.

Ado-Ekiti  LG says:
NO TO RAPE
NO TO CHILD ABUSE
NO TO GENDER BASED VIOLENCE.
