1. Oja Oba market in Ado Ekiti

2. Ureje bridge

 David Oke Secondary School in Ikere a new school named after an illustrious son of the state.

Kareem Agunbiade, Ekiti West LG chairman faces impeachment for alleged fraud, working against Fayemi's interest

Should the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, refused to intervene as he was said to have done on previous occasions, the chairman of Ekiti West Local Government area of Ekiti State, Kareem Agunbiade, may be on his way out of office as the Local Government Legislative Council has commenced impeachment process against him.  Majority Leader of the Legislative Council, Okunola Busayo Idowu, who moved the motion for impeachment of the chairman on Tuesday, accused him of misappropriation of the council fund and working against the interest of Governor Fayemi by being the leader of a group he called G8. The chairman is said to have more than 10 aides while his Vice, Alhaja Motunrayo Adesina officially has none.  The Legislative Council accused Kareem Agunbiade of diverting N1 million from the council to service his aides.  He was also accused of awarding fake contracts through the office of the director of works and acquiring the local government properties ...

Ekiti Monarch Shot By Gunmen

There was a palpable tension in Ewu-Ekiti, Ilejemeje Local Government of Ekiti state on Friday evening as the traditional ruler of the community, the Elewu of Ewu Ekiti, Oba Adetutu Ajayi narrowly escaped death as suspected gunmen rained bullets on his car. The monarch was said to have sustained gunshot injuries and now being hospitalised in an undisclosed medical facility in Ekiti State. A source told journalists in Ado Ekiti on Saturday that the monarch was travelling in his official car to the neighbouring Ayetoro Ekiti, in Ido/Osi local government when the gunmen struck. “The monarch was travelling in his car to Ayetoro when the bandits waylaid him and in an attempt to escape, they pursued him and rained bullets on his car. “The bullets hit him on the legs, arms and stomach. The traditional ruler is now receiving treatment in a tertiary hospital in Ekiti”, the source said.
