President Buhari Appoints Ex-Super Eagles star Daniel Amokachi As Special Assistant on Sports

Ex-Super Eagles forward Daniel Amokachi has been appointed as the Special Assistant on Sports to President Muhammadu Buhari.


The appointment takes effect from the August, 11, 2020.

Amokachi is well-known from his days as a Super Eagles player who represented Nigeria at the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and FIFA World Cup. He was also part of the U-23 team that won Africa’s gold medal in the football event of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
Having since retired and worked as a coach for several sides including the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the 47-year-old has been playing around in the political circles.

He was first given the largely ceremonial role as Nigeria’s Football Ambassador, he has now gotten a bigger position as the Special Assistant to President Buhari.

Fatoba Mourns Demise Of Prominent Ado Chief, Eyeigba

The Honourable  member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1,  Hon. Olusola Steve Fatoba has mourned the demise of Ado-Ekiti prominent Chief and  foremost  accountant Chief(Mrs) Abike Sonoiki, the Eiyegba of Ado-Ekiti who gave up the ghost on Thursday, 15th July, 2021. In a statement in Abuja, he described Eiyegba as a character personified, an  intellectual, a caring mother or Aunt who had meritoriously and selflessly served Ekiti State in various capacities as former SSG and Commissioner. Gulak's Death: Buhari Vows to deploy all resources' to capture culprits

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has expressed outrage and disgust over what he called “the heinous murder of Adamawa politician Ahmed Gulak in Owerri, Imo State by yet to be identified gunmen.” Reacting to the development on Sunday, the President said: “I’m repulsed by such premeditated and gruesome murder of Gulak by evil people who are determined to undermine the peace, unity and territorial integrity of our country.” “Let me warn however that nobody or group of people who engages in such despicable acts should expect to go free.
