Ekiti Further Warns Petroleum Marketers to Desist from Illicit Act.

The government of Ekiti state has again  warned petrol marketers operating in the State to desist from illicit act.

This note of warning  was given on behalf of the State Government by Ekiti State Petroleum Task Force under the leadership of Hon. Peter Adekunle during the monthly routine inspection of the Task Force to  some Filling Stations in Ise/Orun, Emure and Ikere Ekiti LGA  on 21st September, 2020. 

The PPRCPA during its inspection   charged all filling station in the state to sell at an accurate pump meter  and stop illicit act of short changing consumers.

It added that, the State Government would not hesitate to prosecute and seal any Filling Station that is caught fraudulently adjusting their pump meters with the intention to defraud consumers.  

The Petroleum Task Force during its inspection also discovered that most Filling Stations have lukewarm attitude to precautionary measures, he enlightened them on danger attached to  lack of fire extinguisher, improper covering of  underground tank surfaces.

All Filling Station visited during the inspection were urged to comply with Government directives by paying all necessary dues and selling at normal pump meters.
