Ondo Election: Heavy shooting in Akure as PDP, APC supporters clash


There was heavy shooting Sunday morning along Oba Adeshida road in Akure, Ondo State capital as clash between supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and the All Progressives Congress(APC) escalated.

The Sunday morning clash was said to have been a reprisal attack over the killing of an APC member in Oba Nla area of Akure on Saturday night.

Several persons were said to have been injured while many vehicles were vandalised in the clash.

Residents of Oba Nla, Oba Adesida road, Arakale, and Oja Oba areas of Akure, were thrown into confusion.

Motorists have stopped plying the Oba Adeshida road as at press time.

Fatoba Mourns Demise Of Prominent Ado Chief, Eyeigba

The Honourable  member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1,  Hon. Olusola Steve Fatoba has mourned the demise of Ado-Ekiti prominent Chief and  foremost  accountant Chief(Mrs) Abike Sonoiki, the Eiyegba of Ado-Ekiti who gave up the ghost on Thursday, 15th July, 2021. In a statement in Abuja, he described Eiyegba as a character personified, an  intellectual, a caring mother or Aunt who had meritoriously and selflessly served Ekiti State in various capacities as former SSG and Commissioner. According to the lawmaker, Eiyegba would be sorely missed for her wise counsel and motherly role.  Hon. Fatoba prayed that God would grant her eternal rest.
