Be Proactive And Creative, Ekiti Chief Of Staff Tells New Appointees

The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ekiti State,  Hon.Biodun Omoleye has charged new appointees of the state government to be proactive and creative in the discharge of their duties.

Omoleye gave this charge in Ado- Ekiti on Thursday during a meeting with the appointees. He said their appointment was based on trust, competence and support for the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress and the Dr.Fayemi-led administration.

The Chief of Staff urged them to make good use of their offices by working to improve  the lots of the people whom they represent in government and not betray the trust reposed in them.

"Trust is the most important part of human relations. Once trust is broken there's nothing you can do. This appointment is a matter of trust. Everything has its own time and season, and it's God that gives positions. Anyone that works must surely reap what he has done. So, this is a reward for your hard work and loyalty to the party. You are now part of the government, wherever you are, you are representing the Government”, he said.

Stressing the need for the appointees to be true representatives of the people, the Chief of Staff charged them not to be far from the people because the government in which they are now being appointed to serve also enjoys the people’s mandate.

Omoleye while hinting on the return of Local Council Development Authorities said plans are in the pipeline to ensure more decentralization of power by making government closer to the grassroots.

Some of the new appointees who spoke at the meeting thanked the State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi for giving them the opportunity to serve; adding that they would not fail in discharging their duties both to government and the people.
