APC Membership Revalidation Exercise Postponed Till Further Notice


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted its proposed nationwide registration/revalidation slated for Monday, January 25, 2021.

A statement titled “Notice” by the Secretary of the Caretaker/National Convention Planning Committee of the party, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, in Abuja, on Saturday reads: “We sincerely apologise on the postponement of the proposed All Progressives Congress party registration which was scheduled to take place on Monday 25th of January, 2021, now put on hold till further notice to be declared by the state chairman.


“We, therefore, implore all members and stakeholders, well-wishers and lovers willing to join our great party to put on hold till directive comes from above. Thanks for your cooperation.”

Kareem Agunbiade, Ekiti West LG chairman faces impeachment for alleged fraud, working against Fayemi's interest

Should the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, refused to intervene as he was said to have done on previous occasions, the chairman of Ekiti West Local Government area of Ekiti State, Kareem Agunbiade, may be on his way out of office as the Local Government Legislative Council has commenced impeachment process against him.  Majority Leader of the Legislative Council, Okunola Busayo Idowu, who moved the motion for impeachment of the chairman on Tuesday, accused him of misappropriation of the council fund and working against the interest of Governor Fayemi by being the leader of a group he called G8. Ekiti Monarch Shot By Gunmen

There was a palpable tension in Ewu-Ekiti, Ilejemeje Local Government of Ekiti state on Friday evening as the traditional ruler of the community, the Elewu of Ewu Ekiti, Oba Adetutu Ajayi narrowly escaped death as suspected gunmen rained bullets on his car. The monarch was said to have sustained gunshot injuries and now being hospitalised in an undisclosed medical facility in Ekiti State. A source told journalists in Ado Ekiti on Saturday that the monarch was travelling in his official car to the neighbouring Ayetoro Ekiti, in Ido/Osi local government when the gunmen struck. “The monarch was travelling in his car to Ayetoro when the bandits waylaid him and in an attempt to escape, they pursued him and rained bullets on his car. “The bullets hit him on the legs, arms and stomach. The traditional ruler is now receiving treatment in a tertiary hospital in Ekiti”, the source said.
