Don't be a tool in the hands of politicians' Ekiti Govt Charges NYC

Ekiti state government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi has charged the newly inaugurated state and local government body of the Nigerian Youths Congress, Ekiti state chapter not to be a tool in the hands of politicians.

This was made  known through the commissioner for youths and sports  in Ekiti state, Hon. Michael Awopetu who stood in for the governor during the official Inauguration of both the state and local government executives of the youth body yesterday, 22nd February, 2021. 

The commissioner during the official Inauguration of NYC reiterated government's commitment towards the development of youths in Ekiti state.

Hon. Awopetu made it known that Governor John Kayode Fayemi in his bid to improve sporting activities in Ekiti has signed into law Sport Trust Fund and also given his nod for the creation of Ekiti state Female football team.

He furthered by commending the composition of the  leadership of NYC in Ekiti state describing them as, "Serious minded and very objective".

The commissioner added thagt  government will give all its support towards the progress of NYC in Ekiti state.

Speaking in the same vein, the Special Adviser to the governor on Federal matters, Hon. Makinde Araoye who also charged the youths to be serious minded and joined hands with the governor towards youth development in Ekiti state. 

The DG of MEDA in Ekiti, Otunba Kayode Fasae in his keynote address to the youths promised them of more opportunities from the state government like grants, loans and other programmes that will be of benefit to them. 

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of NYC in Ekiti state, Hon. Tosin A. Adesuyi expressed his profound appreciation to all the youths and government functionaries that graced the event.

He promised that the youth body both at the state and local government levels would be alive to their responsibilities and partnered with all relevant stakeholders towards youth development in Ekiti state.

"By and large, the time is now for Ekiti young minds to create a standard and become a partner they ought to be to government, professional bodies and form a synergy with all institution that matters against being swept off by tokenism"

Other important dignitaries that graced the occasion yesterday include the the SSA to the governor on Youth and student matters , S.A on Youth and Student matters, Amb. Moses Ademiloye, permanent secretary and Director of the Ministry of Youth and sport, Vice Chairman of Ado-Ekiti LG, Hon. Yomi Oso,  the National leader of NYC, Hon. Blessing Akinlosotu and representative of the special Assistant to the president on youth matters.

Also present were members of the Advisory council of NYC.

Fatoba Mourns Demise Of Prominent Ado Chief, Eyeigba

The Honourable  member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1,  Hon. Olusola Steve Fatoba has mourned the demise of Ado-Ekiti prominent Chief and  foremost  accountant Chief(Mrs) Abike Sonoiki, the Eiyegba of Ado-Ekiti who gave up the ghost on Thursday, 15th July, 2021. In a statement in Abuja, he described Eiyegba as a character personified, an  intellectual, a caring mother or Aunt who had meritoriously and selflessly served Ekiti State in various capacities as former SSG and Commissioner. According to the lawmaker, Eiyegba would be sorely missed for her wise counsel and motherly role.  Hon. Fatoba prayed that God would grant her eternal rest.

Gulak's Death: Buhari Vows to deploy all resources' to capture culprits
