Don't Overlord Yourselves, NYC Chairman urges Young appointees of the government

The leaderhip of a youth body in Ekiti state, Nigerian Youth Congress has urged all young political appointees of the government not to overlord themselves and desist from any act that will be inimical to the progress of youth in Ekiti state.

Comrade Tosin Adesuyi in a press release which was made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, urged young appointees of the government to consider their appointment as a privilege and work with other youths to translate government policies and promises into reality rather than seeing themselves as demi-gods.

He stated further that Ekiti youth under his leadership has worn a new look and determined to take their rightful place in the society which will consequently put to his/her rightful position any appointee who does not recognize privilege and grace in their relationship with other youths.

"In the series of discussions we have had with the head of government, obviously the government really mean well for the youth but we notice that some typical appointees in their respective positions are political entrepreneurs who can not initiate any thing for the benefit of the youth except it will greedily earn them monetary benefit and as such continue to deface the government among the youths” he said.

He said, he has always maintained at every point that Nigerian Youth Congress, Ekiti state chapter(NYC) under his watch will never take it lightly with any body,  institution or body that treat the youth as second class citizen for any reason.

The chairman said the youth are resolute to bring about the desired change and will not allowed anyone to Lord him or herself on the youth.

In his words “ we are not unmindful of well cultured youth who are doing fine in their respective offices,  however, any youth that is fortunate to be in certain  position who could not maximize such opportunity to advance the interest of youths in Ekiti but elect to work against the  progress of the youth or try to plant a seed of discord among the youths will be put where he or she belongs as we are not going to take such lightly"

He also advised the appointees in charge of youth development to endeavour to key into the laudable vision and policies of their principal (Governor) and see beyond self to think of how they can creatively empower the youth as envisioned by the head of the government
