Ex Minister And Senator, Chief Bode Olowoporoku Passes On


Ilawe-Ekiti born Politician and Economist, Senator Bode Olowoporoku has passed on early this morning  after a brief illness. 

Senator Bode Olowoporoku who was aged 75 at the time of his death  obtained degree in Economics from University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU), Ife in the 70s and went ahead to obtain PhD in Economics from Manchester University in United Kingdom in 1976. 

He was commissioner for Economic and regional planning in old Ondo state, he  was also a Minister for Science and Technology under late former President Shehu Shagari. 

Late Chief Bode Olowoporoku played a major role in the creation of Ekiti state. 

The deceased had  attempted to govern Ekiti state in many occasions but failed. 

He was a Senator, who represented Ekiti south senatorial district between 2003 and 2007. May his soul rest in peace.

Fatoba Mourns Demise Of Prominent Ado Chief, Eyeigba

The Honourable  member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1,  Hon. Olusola Steve Fatoba has mourned the demise of Ado-Ekiti prominent Chief and  foremost  accountant Chief(Mrs) Abike Sonoiki, the Eiyegba of Ado-Ekiti who gave up the ghost on Thursday, 15th July, 2021. In a statement in Abuja, he described Eiyegba as a character personified, an  intellectual, a caring mother or Aunt who had meritoriously and selflessly served Ekiti State in various capacities as former SSG and Commissioner. According to the lawmaker, Eiyegba would be sorely missed for her wise counsel and motherly role.  Hon. Fatoba prayed that God would grant her eternal rest.
