Fayemi Endorses Nigerian Youth Congress

.......Charges them  to defend and protect youth interests 

 

The leadership of Nigerian Youth Congress in Ekiti State paid a courtesy visit to the  Governor of the State, His Excellency, Dr John  Kayode Fayemi.  

The  visit which was the first after the inauguration of Ekiti Chapter of NYC was deliberately planned  to show respect and honour to the number one citizen of Ekiti State. 

The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with Mr Governor,  present to him in a document  summary of the policy plan of the organization  and to seek his blessing to go on with the impactful and life changing programmes proposed in the document. 

While speaking to Mr Governor,  the Newly inaugurated Chairman,  Hon.  Tosin Adesuyi (PTA)  appreciated the governor for putting in his best to the governance of Ekiti and also his contributions to the development of Youth in Ekiti State. 

He noted with regret how potentials are not harnessed for the growth of the state and some youths who usually reduced themselves to state of liability to the government and politicians for pecuiniary and monetary benefits when in actual fact they are endowed with potentials to contribute to the economic development of the state. 

He assure the government and other well meaning indigenes of Ekiti  that NYC in Ekiti has come to amend these ugly narratives amongst the youths. He explained the preparedness of the NYC to address most of the challenges confronting the youth in the State especially in the area of unemployment. 

In his words “Your Excellency,  I am happy  and bold to announce to your eminence that NYC will commence in earnest mobilization of the intellectually endowed youths for the cerebral industrialization of Ekiti using Entertainment,  Fashion and ICT industries as guinea pig.” He said. 

In his reaction the Governor of Ekiti who also doubles as the Chairman of the Governors' forum congratulate the new leadership of NYC and commend the passionate spirit of the new Chairman  about the  development of Ekiti Youth,  having observed him and listening to him at difference occasion. 

He lamented the generational failure which is becoming unmanageable at all levels caused by the older generation.  

He however expressed his worries on the reasoning and the behavioural attitude of the present  generation for falling for the cheap tactics of the politician, loses focus and taking to crime and all forms of social vices. 

The Governor reiterated and reassured the youth,  of his commitment to youth development and readiness to collaborate with any group of youth that is ready to  focuss on the interest of the youths instead of interests of the politicians. “obviously,  your body is on that line but remain focus on the interest of the youth instead of the interest of the politicians, conduct your vision in a way to improve on Youth engagement and enlightenment and be ready to sustain your vision as documented.  Leadership imposes burden that requires you to be resilient committed and determined,  I think you know.”  He said

In the same vein, the Governor expressed the readiness of the Government's Ministries, Departments and Agencies to collaborate and support NYC to bring about value reorientation among the youths and idea to support the youths. 

In the meeting were the Commissioner for Youth and Sport, S A youth and Students, S A Governor’s office and other State Executive members of NYC accompanied by the representatives of Local Government Coordinators.
