NULGE Threatens Show Down Over Bill By NASS To Expunge LG As Third Tier of govt.

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has threatened to call all its members and Nigerians to protes the plan by the political stalwarts especially members of the National Assembly(NASS) to remove the local government,as the 3rd tier  government, through constitution review.

The union reportedly consider such alleged attempt as an “anti-people plot”.

Comrade Ambali Akeem Olatunji who is the current National President of NULGE informed newsmen in Abuja at the weekend that the union has sent a message to the leadership of the National Assembly, especially the House of Representatives, to reveal their stand on the bill.

The message sent also requested that the NULGE should be summoned for deliberation within the next 14 days.

Olatunji disclosed that the strike is going to come up if the legislators remain resolute in their plan.

The NULGE president also disclosed that if the local government is delisted as a tier level of government, it implies the end of the local government.
