By Wasiu Owolewa, Ado-Ekiti
The Nigerian Youths Congress, Ado-Ekiti LG chapter has spoken against the total black out in Ado-Ekiti.
In a communique issued after its weekly meeting in Ado-Ekiti which was co-signed by the Coordinator, Comrade Kola Babs and the P.R.O, Comrade Wasiu Owolewa, the youth body described the move by the Benin Electricity Distribution Commission (BEDC) to throw Ado-Ekiti into total darkness for days as unjustifiable and uncalled for.
Part of the communique reads,
"Assessing the situation in Ado-Ekiti for the past five days whereby the state capital was thrown into total black out for no cogent reason by BEDC, we Nigerian Youth Congress, Ado-Ekiti LG chapter condemn in strong term this unjustifiable act of inconsideration"
"Smooth running of businesses and daily activities in Ado-Ekiti have been greatly
hampered by lack of power supply which has now become unbearable for residents"
The youth body furthered by giving BEDC five days ultimatum to rectify any fault that might cause the total black out or face unimaginable action from the youth body.
"We are calling on the authority of Benin Electricity Distribution Commission(BEDC) to find a possible solution to this black out and restore electricity back to Ado-Ekiti within five days. Failure to do so might attract unimaginable action from the youth body"
NYC also urged the state government to call BEDC to order.
