Agitators of Yoruba nation defy FG, open Idiroko border

Some Yoruba nation agitators have stormed Idiroko in Ogun State and forcefully opened its land border. The land border has remained closed since 2019 when the Federal Government directed that all importations be done through the seaports. But, the Yoruba nation supporters invaded the border community on Saturday and forced open all the gates at the international frontier. A video on social media showed a gun being snatched from an Immigration officer. A man in a yellow T-shirt was also seen shooting the gun into the air to the admiration of others at the scene. Different voices were heard in the video calling on the soldiers and other security agents to come out and shoot. A young man, who was accused of trying to record the incident with his mobile phone was attacked and beaten to stupor. Breaking: Federal Govt Begins 500,000 N-Power Beneficiaries Recruitment Process

The Federal Government recently announced the recruitment process for 500,000 N-power Beneficiaries. This was disclosed yesterday in Abuja by the  Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq. During the inauguration of the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS). a portal developed for ease of coordination, deployment and management of the selection process, the minister further revealed that one million persons would benefit from the current batch of social investment programme.   According to Sadiya Farouq, she said that all previous applicats have been moved to NASIMS. she further emphasis that all applicants must undergo a mandatory online test as part of the selection process. By Wasiu Owolewa, Ado-Ekiti Popular Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo fondly called Sunday Ighoho has  threatened to make sure that 2023 general elections  do not hold in Southwest in actualisation for Yoruba Nation. Sunday Igboho made this known while addressing a large crowd of people at a rally that was held in Akure, the Ondo State capital, yesterday. The Yoruba activists called on all sons and daughters of Yorubaland to support the move for the independence of  the region. Sunday Igboho said that the Yoruba have suffered in the last six years of the present administration. He added  that the only way for the Yoruba people to be safe is to secede and have an independent country.
